Labourer

Field Crew
ICL is seeking a dependable and hardworking Labourer to join our water and sewer crew. This role supports underground infrastructure work, including pipe installation, excavation, grading, and site preparation. You’ll be part of a skilled team focused on delivering high-quality work safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Assist with water and sewer installation, excavation, and grading
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
Operate hand tools and compaction equipment
Perform shoveling, raking, and general site clean-up
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Follow direction from site supervisors and collaborate with crew members
Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures
Requirements:
Experience in sewer and water installation and grading is an asset
Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials, work outdoors, and stand for long periods
Familiarity with construction tools and equipment
Strong communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a teamPositive attitude, reliability, and a commitment to learning
Valid driver’s license is an asset
Available to work Monday to Friday, with weekends as required

Pipe Layer

Field Crew
The Pipe Layer is responsible for installing underground utilities including water, storm, and sanitary sewer systems. This role involves working closely with the site crew to ensure proper alignment, grading, and installation of piping systems according to project plans and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
Grade trenches or culverts, using levels or transit, ensuring proper slope and alignment.
Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using cement, glue, or welding equipment.
Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
Cut pipes to required lengths using saws, pipe cutters, or other tools.
Install and align manholes, catch basins, and valves.
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery and materials.
Ensure safety procedures and company policies are followed at all times.
Work outdoors in various weather conditions and in physically demanding environments.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in civil construction or pipelaying preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade sheets.
Experience operating trench boxes, lasers, and other layout equipment is an asset.
Strong physical stamina and ability to work in varying environmental conditions.
Knowledge of safe trenching practices and OHSA regulations.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
